Options

Mr Lavender will discuss the treatment options with you at your consultation, as everyone has unique circumstances and individual needs.

Most patients get better with specific physiotherapy exercises (Eccentric Loading Exercises)

If the pain does not settle after an appropriate course of physiotherapy, then other treatments will be considered:

• Dry Needling
Here a needle is inserted into the painful area under US (Ultrasound) control to stimulate healing.

Arthroscopy
Takes the pressure off the inflamed tendon and removes any spurs of bone from the Patella (Knee Cap) that are rubbing on the tendon.
